Details:
A modern spacious 3 bedroomed self contained apartment occupying the
second
floor of a 3 storey building in an elevated location with balconies on
two sides overlooking Mero village and the Caribbean Sea. Just one
large
shared bathroom. Cable TV and radio. A telephone will be provided upon
request, for which a deposit is required, balance refundable once bill
has been received for period of occupation (cellphones may also be
hired
with most vehicle rentals). Secure parking.
Just a 5 minute walk
to
Mero
Beach or a 5 minute drive to Salisbury Beach where scuba diving
can
be arranged with the East Carib Dive Club - you may relax at their
beach
bar and daytime restaurant, Chez La Doudou. The
village
has some small grocery stores and snackets. Fish may be bought
from
local fishermen. Other nearby restaurants at Tamarind Tree, West Central, Stonedge
&
Sunset Bay. Vehicle hire is recommended. Close to west coast highway
(Portsmouth
40 min., Roseau 25 min., Melville Hall Airport 1 hour, Canefield
Airport
20 min.).
A good central location, convenient for exploring the entire
island - nearby attractions include beaches at Macoucherie, Salisbury
&
Batalie. The Macoucherie Valley is very scenic and there are many spots
along the river suitable for bathing. A little further afield are the
Layou
River and Wacky Rollers (adventure park and river tubing), Mathia Dam,
Morne Diablotin National Park, Syndicate Trail, Indian River &
Cabrits
National Park. Good for snorkelling in the surrounding area.
